Legal Tech Talent Network

The International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) has an international outreach plan that consists of exciting global events and expanded multi-language resources to be implemented over the next several years.  The drivers for the additions include data privacy regulations, globally shared cloud storage, and member companies simply having increased numbers of new office locations overseas just to name a few.  After a phone call with the Director of Press and Publications for ILTA, Beth Anne Stuebe, we learned how ILTA plans to ensure members around the globe have improved access to the expanded resources and peer-powered events.

This month alone, there are ILTA events taking place in Ireland, Canada, Brazil, and Argentina with additional events already scheduled later this year in England and Australia.

ILTACON: The first ILTACON South America will be held in Sao Paolo on March 26-27, and will feature a dual language format including peer powered networking and educational sessions for individuals involved in legal technology and operations at law firms, corporations, and consulting firms across the region.  On November 18-19, the 14th annual ILTACON Europe (formerly known as INSIGHT) will held in London and attendees may expect sessions covering a variety of topics including innovation, AI, InfoSec, cloud migration, and eDiscovery just to name a few.  The flagship annual ILTACON United States is set to happen in Nashville the week of August 23 and will cover a wide variety of hot legal topics as delegates are expected to be flying in from all around the world. Notably, this year will be “extra special” as the organization celebrates 40 years of providing peer to peer networking and educational events to members of the legal community.

Local Meetings: The local meetings are short format events that are held all around the world and cover a variety of topics.  Programs vary from breakfast meetings, mid-day lunch & learn events, to longer all-day programs featuring workshops, panels discussions, and networking mixers.  There are quite a few Local Meetings scheduled outside of the United States this year including Sydney, Toronto, and London. The Local Meetings shall address legal business issues such as AI, eDisclosure, and innovation and will create an opportunity for regional members to share knowledge regarding these topics that are especially relevant to their geographic areas.

ILTAVATION:  These events are intended to create an environment in which ILTA peers learn ways to drive change and innovation within their respective organizations.  Buenos Aires will be the host of ILTAVATION Argentina later this month and promises to deliver ways for delegates to improve careers by broadening their legal technology knowledge while creating a solid professional network.

No Second-Class Citizens:  In an effort to ensure no members are left behind, transcripts for future events will be translated into multiple languages and made available for download by attendees.  ILTA will also be publishing educational content for members in multiple languages that will be available on the website starting soon.  These important changes are already visible on the web as the program for ILTACON S.A. is available in Portuguese and English.

Given ILTA’s international outreach initiative, we expect to see more great opportunities for members around the world.  Please subscribe to our blog for updates and news regarding worldwide legal events from all our partners.
